O.K. Corral: A Remarkable Advertising Broadside. In 1934 the land on which the legendary gunfight took place was purchased by a Tombstone attorney, John F. Ross. At that time the town was in steep decline, and when rumors circulated about interest in building an auto court in Tombstone, Ross published this broadside offering the land free of charge to anyone who would commit to spending $20,000 to develop it. Presumably he hoped that this would help spark a comeback for the troubled town. Fortunately, no one took him up on the offer, and in the late 1950s the property was purchased by businessman Howard Love, who preserved it as a tourist attraction which it remains today. The broadside was featured in the October 2008 issue of True West magazine. Excellent condition and measuring 8.5" x 12" (10.5" x 14.5" as nicely custom framed).
