    NEEDED Dick Gregory Poster.
    17.5" x 22.5"
    Washington, D.C.; circa 1969

Formatted like a "Wanted" poster, there are two fake mug-shot images of Gregory above the bold text, "NEEDED". At the bottom reads, "Public Citizen #1 - President of the United States in Exile - Inaugurated 3-4-69".

This poster was created after the activist/comedian's failed bid for President in the 1968 election. Gregory had been a write-in candidate for the Freedom and Peace Party. Gregory had previously run for Mayor of Chicago against Richard J. Daley. After the election, he held a mock swearing-in ceremony at a Washington, D.C. grade school, and he was sworn in as the "President-In-Exile". His running mate, Mark Lane, was sworn in as "Vice President-In-Exile" by phone.

    Condition: Trivial wear, very good.
