Broadside Extra: The Black Panther Manifesto, Black Community News Service.
    One page, 22.75" x 32"
    San Francisco; 1970

The title reads, "The Fascists have already decided in advance to murder Chairman Bobby Seale in the electric chair", above a large image of Bobby Seale strapped into an electric chair. The article was written by Eldridge Cleaver, Minister of Information of the Black Panther Party. Published by the Black Panther Party Legal Defense Fund.

Robert G. Seale, born in Dallas, Texas, was the co-founder of the Black Panther Party. In 1969, he was sentenced to four years prison, after he had been on trial for inciting a riot during the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Seale was dismissed from the trial, but was charged with 16 counts of contempt. Seale was again put on trial in 1970, while serving his four-year-sentence, after police suspected him to have ordered the murder of police informant and fellow Black Panther, Alex Rackley. These charges were eventually dropped when the jury could not reach a verdict.

Condition: Flattened folds, with light soiling in places. There is some fading at the creases. Small pinholes are present along the right vertical edge, else good.
