    Autograph Document Signed Moses Austin Bryan, 1892. Moses Austin Bryan (1817-1895), the son of James Bryan and Emily Austin Bryan (sister of Stephen F. Austin). He moved to Texas in 1831 after his father's death. Bryan became Stephen F. Austin's secretary in 1835, served in the Texas army, and took part in the battle of San Jacinto. He was aide de camp and interpreter for Sam Houston and in 1839 was appointed by Mirabeau B. Lamar as secretary to the legation to the United States under Anson Jones.

    This typed and manuscript court document is signed by "Moses Austin Bryan" (In part) State of Texas, County of Brazoria. Petitioner Laura V. Hill, for her deceased husband I. L. Hill a Texas veteran, who served in the war against Mexico for Texas independence in Captain Mosely Bakers command... Notice hereof be given in the terms of the law, that a pension and relief be granted her and as in duly bound will ever pray [signed] Laura V. Hill. Texas blind stamp on document. (Last page) in Bryan hand, (in part) The State of Texas, he swears that the Mrs. Hill is who she is. Said Mrs. Hill being he is acquainted with the facts, this day 25th day July 1892. [Signed] "Moses Austin Bryan" Measures approximately 8" x 13".
