    "Remember the Alamo"

    Albert Stahler: "Remember the Alamo." In copper, 78.75" x 36.25" x 3.2". Circa 1936. Carefully executed on a single sheet of copper; the scene depicts a wounded Jim Bowie being carried on a cot, and William Travis stands at the right holding a sword, with members of their troop in the background. This "painting" was commissioned by the Texas Centennial Committee for the 1936 Centennial Exposition originally held at Fair Park in Dallas. Stahler is most noted for his copper doors at the Mission Inn in Riverside, California. Accompanied by the front page of The Pasadena Post, (Pasadena, California), dated May 18, 1936, featuring an article regarding Stahler's completion of the piece.
