Abraham Lincoln: Archive of Legal Documents. Group of nine legal documents dating 1842-1860. Abraham Lincoln is personally cited in some of the papers, while various law partnerships in which he was a principal are cited in others. In no particular chronological order: 1) March 31, 1852 document authorizing "... A. Lincoln... or any other attorney of record in this state" to represent John Slatten. 2) partial October 6,1845 probate document mentioning close Lincoln friend E. D. Baker and "Stuart" (possibly law partner John T. Stuart). 3) a similar partial probate document, as above, with no relevant entries. 4) yet another partial probate document citing "By amt. paid Lamborn & Lincoln for legal services 10.00". 5) April 3, 1850 probate document listing monies owed by the estate of the decedent, including "A. Lincoln in case R. Shipley vs J. J. Robinson 5.00". 6) August 16, 1852 legal document by John Slatten appointing "... Abram Lincoln... or any other attorney of record in this state for me...". 7) a ledger sheet with entries from 1858-1860 summarizing court activities. Two separate mentions of the appearance of "C. H. Moore and Abram Lincoln their [his] Attorney[s]." 8) Another partial probate document from 1842 mentioning "Stephen F. Logan" and "Stuart & Lincoln for legal services 17.50". 9) multi-page legal document dated October 29, 1842, printed and manuscript, mentioning "Logan & Lincoln" on the second page in the matter of a foreclosure.
