1954 CLEVELAND WORLD SERIES PIN. The Indians of 1954 seemed invincible. On the strength of respectable offense and a pitching rotation of unyielding bullies, this team won 111 games and marched to the World Series. There they were blown away in four straight by Mueller, Dark, and of course Dusty Rhodes. The respective designs of the World Series pins that year oddly belie the turn of events. Humble and featureless was the Giants’ pin. Conversely, the Indians, gifted as they were with a dazzling logo to begin with, produced the positively delightful gem offered here. A pin of such intricate design as the ‘54 Cleveland usually invites a host of disappointments in material, or 250 later, in handling. This one, however, was crafted almost perfectly, and has likely never been worn. The threaded post, with its original nut, is unaltered. The enamel is uniformly pure and the plated surfaces are magnificent.
