1948 LEAF BOXING SET. Leaf’s cruelty to collectors is re-stated their boxing production in 1948. Skip-numbered and insensitive to faulty imagery, the 49-card issue proceeded with only mild customer enthusiasm. Today, it’s a tough set to assemble. We know the 49 numbers of course, but to fulfill a set with acceptable centering and register is a tough challenge. The set is presented is quite acceptable in border distribution and admirable in focus. It has no apparent creases, however, varying degrees of corner wear determine its condition. Specifically; EX/MT 18%; EX 50% (Johnson, Corbett, Tunney and Sullivan); VG/EX 23% (Dempsey, Robinson and LaMotta); VG 9% (Louis). (# This item may require additional shipping charges).
