1948 EXHIBIT "HALL OF FAME" SET. Through its lengthy presence in the industry, the Exhibit Company created a 32-card production in 1948 titled "Baseball’s Great - Hall of Fame." Understandably, all the players featured were Cooperstownenshrined. Offered here is a complete set of the standard issue (missing the "standing with bats" variation of Ruth). The reader may note that despite a much later reprinting of many of these images (on white stock), these are the original 1948 creamy-stock. The Cobb card has some light surface indentations and mild corner wear (VG/EX), but the remaining 31 cards are very admirable. EX/MT/better : Alexander, Bresnahan, Chesbro, Cochrane, Duffy, Evers, Frisch, Gehrig, Hubbell, Jennings, Lajoie, Mack, Mathewson, McGraw, Ruth, Sisler, Speaker, Tinker, Waddell and Young. EX-EX+: Chance, Clarke, Collins, Griffith, Grove, Hornsby, Johnson, Keeler, Plank, Wagner and Walsh.
