1948/49 BALTIMORE BULLETS SIGNED TEAM PHOTO. In the broadest sense, the NBA as we know it today was the direct descendant of the Basketball Association of America (B.A.A.). The B.A.A. opened its doors to play a schedule for 1946/47. After the first season, four of its charter members folded, and in order to devise a workable schedule, a new franchise had to be added. Thus was the birth of the Baltimore Bullets, adopted from the marginal A,B.L. Promptly, the Bullets were winners of the last game of the B.A.A. Finals that season. The 8 1/2" x 11" photo offered here presents that winning roster as they entered the new 1948/49 season, and all of its members have signed their likenesses. The talent on this squad was fairly well-balanced, but clearly, little Buddy Jeannette was the spark plug. Capturing four professional MVP’s, he was properly enshrined into the NBA Hall of Fame in 1994. The photo has six tack holes - five of which will easily be concealed when properly matted. The other appears at the left knee of Connie Simmons (posed at far right). The photo has one short crease (next to Walt Budko’s head), and mild creasing at the lower right corner. The signatures are all clean ballpoint, and their quality is "8-9" (except Reiser - "5"). LOA Spence and Grad/DNA. (# This item may require additional shipping charges).
