[Waco Village]. Three Postal Covers. Ranging in size from 5.5" x 3.25" to 5.5" x 3.25", each of these unique items is postmarked from Waco Village (modern-day Waco), circa 1858-1860. While early settlers wanted to name the new town Laramie, they were convinced by George Erath to name it Waco Village in honor of the original Indian inhabitants who had been displaced.
