    [Stephen F. Austin]. Three Manuscript Maps of Texas by Stephen F. Austin With Biographical and Bibliographical Notes by Carlos E. Castañeda...and Early Martin, Jr. Austin: Privately Printed, 1930. Limited to fifty-five copies, this particular example is unnumbered. Elephant folio, xvi, 55 pages. Signed on the limitation page by Carlos Castañeda, Latin American Librarian for the University of Texas. Illustrated. Coat of arms of Stephen F. Austin as frontispiece. With three original Austin maps, reproduced in sepia for the first time: "Map of 1822," "Mexican Map of 1826," and "Map of 1829." This is the first copy assembled and was not intended for sale. It was later bound in unfinished buckskin with titles in gilt on the front cover. Two small smudges on the front. Pages show light toning, especially along the edges, and some of the pages have minor chipping; upper corner is bent. Small holes and ghosting on the verso of the "Contents" page where an original Stephen F. Austin land grant was laid in, the whereabouts of which are unknown. Uneven toning and damage to the lower corner of the "Illustrations" pages. Chipping to the lower corner of page xv; Spot of foxing on pages 12 and 13; Mexican Map of 1826 has a small, black ink mark at the right edge. Foxing to rear endpapers.
