Through many issues immediately following its celebrated debut, Sports Illustrated featured more remote sports topics for their covers.  For the issue presented here, appearing in the Spring of '55, we're fully entertained by the delightful image of Mays, Durocher and the latter's bride, Laraine Day.  This copy includes the 'sneak preview' of Topps' imminent baseball production.  (We note a little prejudice here; all eight of the 'cards' are National Leaguers - to include Banks and Spahn.)  This is a very presentable copy that approaches EX.  The cover has mild corner damage and a superficial crease, which isn't immediately apparent.  The first couple pages are partially loose, and as is evident, it has a mailing label.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
