One page, 8" x 9", County of Washington [Texas], September 29, 1851, affirming that "...David Ayres and Ann M Ayres...in consideration of eight hundred Dollar...sold...unto Hannah Pierce a certain negro girl named Matilda aged about twenty five years and her child aged about nine months. both are sound both in body and mind and slaves for life." Docketed on the verso. Light toning along the folds, else fine.
