[Slave Execution]. The Pennsylvania Packet and Daily Advertiser. No. 3039. Four integral pages, 11.5" x 18.75", Philadelphia, October 29, 1788, containing various local and national information, including the story of a slave execution in Trenton. It reads, in part: "...a negro woman...and a negro man...were executed...pursuant to their sentence, for setting fire to a barn...And on the 14th of next month, a young negro lad...is to be executed, for being concerned in the above horrid crime...The young negro lad having stolen a gun belonging to his master, which he sold, was discovered by his master, who whipt [sic] him." After informing the other two unfortunates, they set fire to the master's barn. The young man also confessed that the woman had previously burned the barn and "...that she has since that time been guilty of poisoning her mistress..." Period ads in the rear. Chipped, toned edges with scattered foxing and a small hole near the lower right corner.
