As printed, this movie poster was made in two pieces (we'd imagine due to press restrictions).  In any event, its colorful artistry was intended to lure an unsuspecting public to view Safe at Home, recounting the real life drama of Mantle and Maris in their pursuit of the single-season home run record in 1961.  The two sheets were devised as one-third constituting the upper portion (26" x 40"), and the bottom portion, or remaining two-thirds, which measures 53" x 40".  A white border at the lower edge of the smaller piece was to be hidden beneath the bottom portion to effect a continuous image.  Regardlessly, this one will occupy considerable wall space.  The smaller piece has been compacted into eighths, and a couple very small holes resulted (EX/MT).  The larger portion was compacted into sixteenths, and is otherwise faultless (NM).  As a unit, it seems that this poster was never used for its intended purpose, because it wasn't mounted (i.e. no tack holes).  In a word, this is a beauty - one requisite to the accomplished Yankee collection.  Please note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot, additional shipping costs may apply.
