    [Revolutionary War]. Bickerstaff's Boston Almanack, For the Year of our Redemption, 1778. "Danvers [Massachusetts]: Printed by E. Russell at his Printing Office late the Pell Tavern." 12mo, 24 pages. "Calculated by Benjamin West, a Student in Astronomy, at Providence, and Author of this Almanack for twelve Years." The cover features two woodcut portraits of "The Glorious Washington and Gates," one of the earliest images of Washington in woodcut. Twelve additional woodcuts appear. Some annotations exist in the text. The front cover leaf has detached. Minor stains and toning.

    Interleaved with seven smaller leaves, each roughly 3.5" x 4.25", which have been inserted and sewn between the pages that include the months. Each leaf is hand-ruled with roughly 30 lines on which the original owner wrote various annotations, such as daily weather conditions and Bible verses. The first and last sheets read, "War Still Continues which began between old England & America April 19 1775."
