    Description

[Republic of Texas] Consolidated Fund of Texas $1000 Bond Certificate. One page, 8" x 10.25", [Austin], [1837]. Unengrossed, with a complete separation along the horizontal fold. Chipping along right margin and traces of mounting remnants remain on verso, otherwise a very good to near fine example of a scarce Texas bond.

    More Information:

Consolidated funds of Texas were authorized by a June 7, 1837, Act of Congress entitled "An Act to authorize the consolidation and funding the Public Debt". These stocks bore interest at the rate of "ten per centum per annum" and were redeemable after September 1, 1842.
