[Martin Luther King, Jr.]. Two Typescripts Titled: "For All - A Non-Segregated Society." Dr. King began work on this message in September 1956 for the thirty-fifth annual observance of Race Relations Sunday by the National Council of Churches. These two typescripts are early versions, one of which contains edits made in red.

The earliest version consists of three typed pages, 8.5" x 11". It was not directed solely at the Southern states, where segregation is blatant, but also to the Northern states where segregation also exists, albeit in a more subtle form. With light toning to the edges and smoothed folds. Small staple holes in the upper left corner. The second copy, on 8.5" x 11" onionskin paper, contains edits in red ink. This copy is marked confidential and not for publication at the upper right corner. A more condensed copy of only two typed pages.

By November of that year, the final version was ready for publication and was being distributed in an NCC flyer with "Suggestions for Action."
