    [Martin Luther King, Jr.]. Group of Two Programs, One Sermon, and One Speech including: Sermon: "The Death of Evil upon the Seashore." Four pages, 6" x 9", New York, May 17, 1956. This sermon was given by Dr. King at the "Service of Prayer and Thanksgiving in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine" in commemoration of the second anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. the Board of Education. In the sermon, Dr. King makes comparisons between the Israelites captivity in Egypt in the Bible and segregation in the United States. [and:] An Address to the Chicago Sunday Evening Club. Four integral pages, 6" x 9", Chicago, January 12, 1958. Dr. King gave the opening prayer and, later, a lecture titled, "What is Man?," at the fifty-first annual meeting. [and:] Talladega College Program. Four integral pages, 5.5" x 8.5", Talladega [Alabama], March 31, 1957. Dr. King provided the sermon at this service which included an offering for the benefit of the Montgomery Improvement Association. [and:] Speech: "The Future of Integration." Twelve pages, 8.5" x 11", Iowa City, November 11, 1959. Begins with the periods of race relations, from slavery to integration. Dr. King makes comparisons to the story of the Jews enslavement in Egypt from Exodus. Discusses hindrances to integration such as the efforts of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Citizens Councils. In spite of the opposition, however, those opposed to segregation were winning the battle. He concludes with his philosophy of nonviolence.
