[Map]. 1986 Texas Sesquicentennial. Austin: Texas Sesquicentennial Press, 1984. Measuring 23.75" x 29.75" (sight), compiled by John Davis, drawn by Richard Alan Hubbard, and calligraphed by Sharon L. Roos, this gorgeous map was commissioned to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Texas. Known as the Texas Revolutionary Map, it depicts Texas as it was in 1836, including the location of several colonies, settlements (both contemporary and modern), battlefields, roads, and Indian tribes. Beautifully matted in green accented by cutouts of columns, a wreath, and three Lone Stars exposing underlying marbling and framed to an overall size of 37.25" x 43".

More Information: The map also shows rivers and other topographical features. Inset of the Republic of Texas at the top left corner. A table at the bottom right features all forty-eight battles of the Texas Revolution with dates, commanders of the specific engagements for both armies, and notes. Contains a Yellow Rose of Texas compass and legend with the eagle and cactus of the Mexican Coat of Arms.
