    [General Joseph Wheeler] General Order No. 2. One page, 5" x 7.5", February 10, 1864. Issued from the "Head Qu'rs Wheeler's Cavalry Corps."List six points concerning the "Schools of Instruction," to be "established and maintained at all times, except when upon the march." Examples of these include "Army Regulations as relates to guard duty and maneuvering of troops" and the wearing of sabres by officers at all times when on duty. Some toning is evident and the print is slightly askew. Small chip at the right edge, but otherwise very fine.

    Joseph Wheeler (1836-1906) was a West Point graduate from Augusta, Georgia. He has the recognition of serving as a general during a time of war for two armies that once opposed each other. He was a general for the Confederacy during the Civil War and, later for the United States during both the Spanish-American and Philippine-American Wars.
