[Battle of Corinth]. Report From Captain Michael Piggott of the Western Sharpshooter 14th Missouri Volunteers Regarding the Action Around Corinth, Mississippi. Four pages, 7.75" x 12.75", Corinth, Mississippi, September 22, 1862, to Colonel Patrick E. Burk, Western Sharpshooters, 14th Missouri Volunteers. The Western Sharpshooters were a specialized regiment of infantry sharpshooters organized at St. Louis, Missouri on November 23, 1861. The men of the regiment were armed with highly accurate rifles for their specialized work. Three companies of the W.S.S. were sent to Corinth and participated on both days of the second battle of Corinth. This first-hand report is probably the most accurate record of the Western Sharp Shooters during the battle. Piggott's report, in addition to recounting the action around the town of Burnsville and near Iuka, also spends a great deal of time chronicling a story of a conflict between himself and another officer who started a quarrel with him and called him a "d---d coward". An extraordinary letter. With the usual fold creases, otherwise legible and in fine condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
