"An Act Dividing the State of Texas into two Judicial Districts." Rice paper handwritten copy, six pages (not including front and back paper covers), 9.5" x 14.25", n.d. (possibly ca. 1845), n.p. The act contains seven sections and begins, "An Act Dividing the State of Texas into two Judicial Districts, and fixing the time and places of holding Court therein and for other purposes." Throughout the handwritten document blanks are left unfilled. For example, ". . . shall be begun and held at Tyler on the [blank] Mondays in [blank] and [blank] respectively; and [blank] at Brownsville. . . ." Some of the text has been corrected by pencil marks, likely contemporary to the original handwriting. Foxing throughout. All pages are affixed at top margins and contain three file holes.
