    Marine Corps General Alexander Vandegrift's Brigadier Generals' Flag with Signed Card from the Naval Relief Fund Auction. Hero of Guadalcanal, Medal of Honor Winner, and Commandant of the Marine Corps, Alexander A. Vandegrift was the epitome of a Marine. On offer is General Vandegrift's Brigadier Generals' flag measuring approximately 45" x 64". The flag is red wool with a single white cotton machine applied star. The hoist end is faintly marked with a 1932-1939 date. The flag has a few small moth holes but is in otherwise excellent condition. The flag is accompanied by a typed 3" x 5" note card reading "Navy Relief Fund Auction/ Item: Brig. Generals Flag./ Item Number: 193/ Donated by: Alexander A. Vandegrift, U.S.M.C." and signed "A. A. Vandegrift".
