    Description

Interesting Group of WWII Japanese Items - Uniform, Photograph Album and More. A diverse group of items including: 1) a Japanese army green wool tunic with privates' rank insignia on the collar. The tunic has five brown plastic buttons on the front, two button-flap chest pockets and two lower flap pockets. The inside is stamped with clothing depot acceptance marks. The tunic is free from moth damage and in excellent condition. 2) Brown leather officers' map case. This is an interesting variation, perhaps privately purchased with a metal star stud which retains the closure strap. The officer's name is written in ink on the underside of the top cover. The leather is a bit brittle but the case is complete and in generally very good condition. 3) Fantastic photograph album containing about 62 personal photographs of which fully 25 are military related. The photos include pictures of children, relatives and family, rural scenes and more importantly, soldier buddy pictures, group shots of soldiers, and one shot of a military pilot next to the rudder of his aircraft. These latter photos provide excellent views of uniforms and equipment. 4) An unused fifty-one page diary, made in the Japanese style with silk covers and accordion-style binding. Each page is printed with kanji characters. The diary's cover is modestly water stained, as are a few of the preliminary pages, otherwise it is in excellent condition.
