Famed WWII USAAF Ace Richard Bong Autograph On 1935 One Dollar Bill Series 1935 A $1.00 Silver Certificate which has been folded and with a missing corner shows a strong clear autograph of Richard Bong. Richard Bong ( September 24, 1920 - August 6, 1945) is United States' highest scoring air ace having shot down 40 Japanese airplanes and recipient of the Medal of Honor. All of his aerial victories were in the P-38 Lightning. He was killed testing a P-80 Shooting Star at Burbank California. Because of his premature death in 1945 his autograph is one of the most desirable of WWII.
