    Description

You Are Right We Cannot All Go (Lot of 6) 1-(22" x 16") and 5-(14" x 11") Artist: W.B. King. Printed for the Liberty Loan Committee. This poster was based off a Saturday Evening Post cover. It depicts a man thinking about soldiers fighting overseas and he stands to get out of his chair. As he does his little daughter and wife tell him that not everyone can go, but everyone can buy more Liberty Bonds. To this the man agrees. A wonderful little poster, with an almost comic book quality to it. A small story is told by one two small images. A wonderful example of how images were able to relate large quantities of information and emotions to the public.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
