WWI: U.S. Army Air Service Medals and Insignia.Includes: 1) Victory Medal with 8 clasps: Somme Defensive, Aisne, Montdidier-Noyon, Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne, Somme Offensive, Oise-Aisne and Defensive Sector. The consignor indicates this medal was awarded to a member of the 94th Aero Squadron. A likely post-war 94th Aero Squadron pinback insignia accompanies the Victory Medal. 2) Victory Medal with four clasps: Somme Defensive, St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne and Defensive Sector. Consignor attributes this medal to a member of the 22nd Pursuit Squadron. A likely post-war 22nd Pursuit Squadron pinback insignia accompanies the medal. The pin has come loose from the insignia and needs repair. 3) Victory Medal with five clasps: Somme Defensive, Lys, St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne and Defensive Sector. The medal has a small gilt 1 ½-inch pinback Air Service pilot's wing attached at the lower edge of the ribbon. The consignor attributes this medal to a member of the 28th Aero Squadron. The Victory medal is accompanied by a French Military Valor and Service medal. 4) Victory Medal with three clasps: Somme Defensive, Somme Offensive, and Defensive Sector. The medal has a small gilt 1 ½-inch pinback Air Service pilot's wing attached at the lower edge of the ribbon. The consignor attributes this medal to a member of the 17th Pursuit Squadron.
