    World War I: Damascus Blade Imperial German Lion-head Cavalry Officer's Saber. The finely detailed and chiseled brass lion head has cabochon red eyes. The grip is shagreen and wire wrap. The quillon also features a lion's head. The obverse langets has a crossed cavalry sabers on a round cartouche. The obverse langets has an unengraved shield cartouche for a monogram or crest. The most outstanding feature of this fine saber is the blade. The blade is superb Damascus work and a joy to behold. The blade measures 32 ½ inches. The sword in the scabbard has an overall length of 39 ½ inches. The sword, although it is of the highest quality, is unmarked. The black metal scabbard is dent-free. The tip of the blade has some pitting.
