Winchester M1895 Rifle with Saddle Ring #78131, Mfg. Early 1915. Gun is generally smooth and gray retaining most of an old reblue finish on the barrel and traces of original blue on the frame. The barrel and receiver are devoid of markings with the exception of a hand stamped 303 on the top of the receiver. There are also a number of small dents on and around the top of the receiver. Markings on the side of the receiver excellent, mechanically perfect with excellent bore. 24 1/2" barrel. The barrel band, while original, shows a number of dents/nicks. Wood generally very good, showing wear and use with a tiny chip by the frame on each side and a number of scattered dents/scratches, generally minor. Sling swivels have been attached/screwed the the stock with an accompanying leather sling. A good representative 1895 with several interesting anomalies.
