Superb Quality, Pristine Condition W. & C. Scott & Son 16 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun, #46744, Manufactured 1890. 30.125" steel barrels retain 100% of the original bright lacquer brown finish. Receiver, frame, forestock release, barrel release lever and trigger guard with exquisite, very tight, scroll engraving. A castle turret in an oval is engraved just behind the trigger guard. External hammer boxlocks with engraved borders and deeply chiseled with oak leaves on stippled panels, and hand engraved "W. & C. Scott & Son". Mechanically perfect, bores mint. All perfect with traces of case colors mixing with light gray. Very crisp and sharp. Wood about mint with forestock and wrist finely checkered. There is a small, nearly imperceptible, repair on the left side, adjacent to the trigger guard abutting the frame, clearly done during the period of use, and really detracts nothing. Oval silver escutcheon on the underside of the butt, original black horn butt plate. A beautiful gun in the tradition of the finest English gunmakers, in truly superb condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
