Pair of Model 1889 Cavalry Degens Named to Uhlan and Dragoon Regiments. Includes: (1) Prussian M1889 degen with maker-marked, double-etched and blued blade marked "Königs Ulanen Regt. (1. Hannov.) Nr. 13." on the left side of the blade and with the regiment's battle honors "Peninsula - Waterloo - Garzia - Hermandez" on the right side. The Prussian eagle appears on the fold-down guard. The celluloid grips are a bit loose but otherwise the sword shows modest wear and is in excellent condition. The metal scabbard is engraved with the owner's name - "W. Türig." and stamped with the regimental markings: "13U2/ 11" near the throat of the scabbard. There is some minor plating lift and light scattered rust on the scabbard, otherwise it is in excellent condition. (2) Hessian M1889 degen with blade marked "W.K.&C." and double-etched with "1. Großh. Hess. Drag. Regt. (Garde Drag. Regt.) No. 23" on the right side and with military scenes on the left side of the blade. The rampant lion of Hesse appears on the fold-down guard. The celluloid grips are in excellent condition and the sword retains the sword knot still wrapped around the grip. The blade remains bright and in excellent condition with a few nicks to the edge; the hilt is missing a bit of the plating but is in very good condition. The scabbard is a bit worn with some light surface rust, but is in otherwise very good condition. The scabbard needs a bit of adjustment as the sword lacks about 1" in going all the way into the scabbard.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
