    Description

National Industrial Conservation Movement Lot #2 (Lot of 10) Printed for the National Industrial Conservation Movement. This movement was affiliated with the National Association of Manufacturers. These posters were motivational propaganda posters along the same lines as those which were printed in WWII to motivate workers and laborers. While very common in WWII these WWI versions are much rarer and more desirable. All posters in this lot measure 25"x 19." Many if not all of these were created by the artist with the last name of Phifer. The lot includes; "When You Attack the Man..." (No pictures version); "62,000 laws" x2 (Version with Pictures); "The Man At The Bench" (No pictures version); "Mr. Consumer" (Version with pictures); "When You Attack the Man..." (Version with pictures) x2; "Mr. Consumer" (No pictures version); "62,000 Laws" (No pictures version); and "Boost Your Job". Like the other lot featuring posters from this organization, these posters promote cooperation and teamwork on the job, and ask workers to promote industry and support laws which allow industry to operate freely and efficiently. For example the "62,000 Laws" posters reads; "62,000 laws enacted in four years in the United States. Many of them- unnecessarily hampered your industry. Tell your legislator that you want fewer and better laws." These words are accompanied by several cartoons featuring American Industry suffering various wrong from the government laws. These posters were used to raise awareness of laborers as well as promote hard working men. A wonderful lot of rare posters! A must have for any collection!
