    Description

    Model 1842 Prussian Pickelhaube. Standing 15" tall, all fittings brass in excellent condition, 5 3/4" spike supported on a cruciform spike base, two ventilation holes on the spike neck with decorative pearl rings surrounding. Line eagle front plate 5" X 5 1/4" held fast to leather body with brass wires, two extra holes behind plate. Convex brass chin scales are complete with excellent leather backing save for small chinscale buckle and straps which are replacements. Left side exhibits cloth kokarde. Leather body is lightly crazed, front brass edged visor lined with thin green leather, rear visor partiality split at seam, exhibits wear at base of brass spine and a few small edge breaks. Interior leather lining complete but showing general wear and flaking.
