    Description

Grand Dukedom of Baden Pattern 1849 Infantry Other Ranks Pickelhaube. Black leather body and visors with brass trim. 5" tall brass fluted spike with cruciform base. Two of the four round-head split-pin studs are absent. Large, brass Baden front plate with winged Griffin and shield bearing the monogram of Grade Duke Leopold. The crown is missing from atop the griffin's head. The plate is mounted via two metal loops and leather thongs. The brass chin scales are present, though one plate is missing from the left scale. Two small cockades or rosettes are mounted to the left side of the helmet. The leather liner is remarkably well preserved and complete. The two halves of the helmet body are slightly separated at the stitching and there is some scattered cracks and damage to the body, as well as the usual crazing to the leather finish. Still, the helmet is in very good condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
