Gamy-Montaunt Hand-Colored Pochoir Print: "Circuit Europeen/ 1r Beaumont 2e Garros/ Sur monoplane Bleriot, moteur Gnome/ Magneto Bosch, Helice Normale". Paris: Mabileau & Co. 1911. Image size: 32.5" x 14". Sheet size: 35.25" x 17.75". This illustration pays tribute to Beaumont's winning of the 1911 Circuit of Europe Air Race. André Beaumont was a pseudonym used by Jean Conneau who set many early aviation records. The Gamy-Montaut prints document various historical events in the early history of motorized transportation including automobiles, boats, and aviation. This example has several closed tears along the edges which have been temporarily repaired with archival tape and can be easily professionally repaired or will be invisible when properly framed and matted. The print has been stored rolled so there are some creases which need professional attention. There is some toning to the paper at the edges and a small area of loss at the top corner. The colors remain bright and the print is in overall very good condition.

    Estimate: $700 - $900.
