    Description

Gamy-Montaunt Hand-Colored Pochoir Print: "Bleriot Traversant le Manche - le 25 Juillet 1909". Paris: M.M. 1909. Image size: 35.25" x 17.75". Sheet size: 30.25" x 11.5". Ernest Montaunt's illustration depicts Louis Bleriot's historic first crossing of the English Channel by air. The Gamy-Montaut prints document various historical events in the early history of motorized transportation including automobiles, boats, and aviation. This example has several closed tears along the edges which have been temporarily repaired with archival tape and can be easily professionally repaired or will be invisible when properly framed and matted. The print has been stored rolled so there are some creases which can be easily removed. There is some toning to the paper at the edges. The colors remain bright and the print is in overall very good condition.

    Estimate: $700 - $900.
