    Frederick Coffay Yohn (1875-1933), artist. Original Pen and Ink Wash Illustration From The Happy Ship - Setting Forth the Adventures of Shorty and Patrick U.S.S. Oklahoma, Circa 1913.
    View area 15 ½ x 12 ½-inches; framed and matted under glass to an overall size of 25 x 22-inches. Signed by the artist in the lower left corner. An apparently unused illustration from the book The Happy Ship - Setting Forth the Adventures of Shorty and Patrick U.S.S. Oklahoma, published in New York by McBride, Nast and Company, 1913. The book follows the comic adventures of two old Navy salts assigned to the U.S.S. Oklahoma. This particular illustration depicts a tattoo experience gone wrong. F. C. Yohn was a prolific illustrator for such periodicals as Collier's Weekly, Harper's Magazine and Scribner's Magazine.
