    Description

DWM 1916 Luger and Early Swiss Holster. Cal. 9mm. Serial Number 6713e. A nice Great War-era Luger as manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken. An all-matching wartime Luger with mis-matched aluminum base magazine. The pistol shows mainly holster wear to the high spots but the grip straps remain strong with the majority of the original finish remaining. There is some shallow pitting scattered along the frame, side plate and at the barrel, especially at the end. The pitting is likely the result of being stored in a holster for the last ninety plus years. The wooden grips display wear commensurate with the wear on the metal. The brown-leather Swiss holster is marked "W. Spielberg 04 Aarburg" and is marked in ink inside the flap "Albrecht" and "Zurich". The holster is moderately worn with some crazing to the finish. The leather reinforcement for the rear carrying ring appears to be a later replacement. Otherwise the pistol and holster are in good condition.
