Don't Waste Food (Lot of 5) 30" x 20" Artist: L.C. Clinker and M.J. Dwyer. Printed For the U.S. Food Administration. This poster is done in the Raleigh style of dark, somber, and rich colors; along with the coloring, the jagged edges and chaotic brush strokes are what gives this poster its fearful and weighty appearance. The image is of a ruined, bombed out city, with a crowd gathered. The main figures are a woman and 3 children who look very hungry and destitute. One little child reaches out a skinny hand for food. A powerful image which no doubt hit home with many Americans. At the end of the war, the United States was exporting three times the breadstuffs and meat that it had before the war began. A fantastic lot; grab it!

Condition-Poster 1-Fair; major/severe tears on top edge, edges show heavy wear from storage/rolling, water damage stains on left edge.

Poster 2-Good; cockling from severe fold memory, small/minor tears on upper edge with dirt stains and residue present as well, colors look slightly washed out.

Poster 3-Good; upper right corner severely damaged with tears and wrinkles (pieces missing), dirt stains and residue on edges.

Poster 4-Fine; normal wear on edges from storage/rolling, paper is yellowing slightly.

Poster 5-Good; cockling from severe fold memory, very wrinkled from uneven rolling, dirt stains and residue on lower edge.
