Bronze Portrait Plaque of Otto von Bismarck, Circa 1890. 12½" x 17¾". A fantastic profile portrait of Germany's "Iron Chancellor" probably produced near the end of his term as the first chancellor of the German empire. The plaque is constructed in two pieces with Bismarck's profile attached to the base via two screws. At the lower right corner is a facsimile of Bismarck's signature and in the upper left corner an Imperial crown over a shield of oak leaves. The plaque has an overall warm patina and is in excellent condition. The plaque was likely originally designed to be displayed in German government buildings.
