[WWI Liberty Loan Poster]. "Shall we be more tender with our dollars that with the Lives of our sons?". 20" x 30". Artist: Unknown. Printed by Edward & Deutsch Litho Company, Chicago for the 2nd Liberty Loan of 1917. Secretary of the Treasury William Gibbs McAdoo's quote was used for a couple of poster variations for the 2nd Liberty Loan campaign. This example features a soldier holding the flag and a sailor holding his rifle with mounted bayonet. This is an excellent example of early 20th Century lithography. The poster has been fully mounted to an art board backing. There is some trivial damage at the lower left corner, but once matted and framed, it can't be seen. Very good condition.
