    Description

[Paul Strähle Halberstadt Collection] Original Gotha G. V. Bomber Rubber Tire and Metal Wheel Chock. Comprising: 1) Iron Wheel Chock measuring approximately 16" tall and 7 ½" wide. The Parris and Hyde catalog lists this as a chock for WWI German aircraft. Presumably it was among the treasure trove of aircraft parts at the Halberstadt factory which were liberated by Straehle after WWI. Unmarked. Very good condition. 2) Continental white rubber tire marked "Continental 965 x 150-N.S. 38 x 6-N.S." and dated "11 18". The catalog lists this as "N.O.S. Gotha Bomber, white rubber, excellent museum piece...". Further research would need to be done to determine if this is, indeed a Gotha tire. The tire is rather misshapen and dry with age. From the collection of Dr. Douglas Harman.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
