[Paul Strähle Halberstadt Collection] Large Section of WWI German Halberstadt CL. IV Lozenge Camouflage Fabric and Three Small Sections of Doped Fabric. A large section of lozenge camouflage fabric measuring approximately 14 ½" x 20 ½" (about 297 square inches) in shades of blue, black, tan, green and violet. A notation on this section, in ink, reads "Soissons April 1918". The smaller pieces of fabric include a 4" x 12" section of dully camouflaged fabric; a 4 ½" x 18 ½" section of un-camouflaged doped fabric; and a small triangular piece doped fabric over thin wood. All examples in very good condition. The Parris and Hyde catalog offered sections of lozenge fabric from wing panels and sections cut from between ribs. From the collection of Dr. Douglas Harman.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
