Wonderful, Untouched Pennsylvania F/L Pistol from the Kindig Collection by Jacob Baum, Northumberland Co. Penna. C.1815. 13¾" overall with .45 caliber smoothbore 8½" octagonal barrel. All metal smooth and light brown, including some of the original brown finish on the barrel, just a few very minor spots of light surface rust. Signed in hand engraved block letters just behind the brass blade front sight "J * B". V-notch rear sight. Original F/L configuration utilizing London lock with roller frizzen. All brass furniture with the exception of the crescent shaped lock bolt plate which is mother of pearl. Trigger guard with star engraved on the bow, brass butt cap and ramrod pipes, along with brass barrel tang that extends 4" on to the wrist. Very nice detail. The violin finish maple stock with deep rich patina and just some minor handling marks. Really exceptional. The gun retains the original ramrod and the original Kindig inventory sticker on the stock under the lock. Absolutely, quintessentially, "in the black" untouched, with a direct lineage to the finest Pennsylvania rifle and pistol collection ever assembled.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
