Rare Winchester Tribute Model 94 Number 1 of 1

Winchester Model 94AE William S. Hart Tribute Lever-Action Carbine - Number 1 of 1. Cal. .45 Colt. Serial number WSH 1. 16" round barrel. Finished in a deep, polished blue with a nicely figured checkered walnut stock. Buckhorn rear sights. Large loop cocking lever. The left side of the receiver features a gold silhouette of Hart with his six-shooter and a facsimile of his signature "William S. Hart". The right side of the receiver has a portrait of Hart and again, a facsimile of his signature in gold. There is a small cowboy boot stamped in gold on the upper tang. The carbine has some small, minor scratches and a small area of raised rust on the butt plate, otherwise it is in excellent condition. Sadly the carbine has become separated from the original box and paperwork. Accompanied by two original letters from U. S. Repeating Arms Co., dated August 19, 1988, providing details of the rifle, identifying it as serial #WSH 1, and identifying it as "one of one".

‡ The owner placed a late bid on this unreserved lot and repurchased it, subject to applicable commission.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
