Winchester M1886 Rifle # 37368 Mfg. Late 1889. 26" round barrel, caliber .40-82. Gun retains 60% original blue and 20% case colors but has clearly been retouched with cold color. Excellent markings, mechanically perfect, fine bore. All metal sharp and crisp and very nice, just a few tiny spots of surface rust along the top edge of the receiver. The forestock is excellent, near perfect, although the butt stock, on the left side, from half way up to the comb, clearly shows signs of having been exposed to heat, and is noticeably blackened with some minor loss near the buttplate. Still a very nice early M1886 worthy of the required minor restoration.
