    Very Rare, Pristine Condition Gettysburg 75th Reunion Veteran's Medal Inscribed to "Thomas J. Cave", 18th Indiana Vols. Cave enlisted in the 18th Indiana on August 16, 1861, at the age of 16 serving with the regiment until his muster out on August 18, 1865. He was engaged at Pea Ridge, Port Hudson, Champion's Hill, Vicksburg, Winchester, Cedar Creek, and numerous other actions, being promoted to Sergeant March 1, 1865. Cave attended this last great gathering of Civil War veterans at the age of 95, and as the last surviving member of the 18th Indiana Vols. The medal is in mint, as issued, condition and bears the serial number "592" on the reverse of the planchet. In the original blue storage box and the original outer cardboard box, also both mint. A very rare and important Civil War associated American medal.
