U.S. M1863 Remington .58 Caliber Percussion "Zouave" Rifle with the Original Brass-Handled Saber Bayonet. Metal overall generally smooth and dark gray, very sharp, just no remaining blue. Absolutely no rust or pitting. All brass furniture perfect. Mechanically crisp, perfect bore, excellent deep markings, including 1863 breech date and STEEL. Wood excellent with just a few very minor scattered dents and good inspectors' cartouches. Bayonet excellent, with just a few small patches of very light pitting, negligible, with correct BH inspector's mark. Complete and original in every respect and a very attractive Civil War rifle.
